When I left school I was lucky enough to embark on a cabinet making apprenticeship with a dying breed of "olde school" cabinet makers. Here I learnt so much not only about furniture, design and style but also about wood itself. With a lot of hard work and hours away from my growing family I built up a large business supplying garden rooms and log cabins throughout Europe, until 2017 when for medical reasons I had to sell the business and turn my hobby into a paying hobby, and here I am.
At Cedar Wood Designs I create bespoke commissions, along with off the shelf items such as serving, cutting and charcuterie boards, coasters, house signs and more.
Clients from the nearby car manufacturers of JLR and Aston Martin often supply their own automotive pieces and ask me to create something completely bespoke whether that be a desk, coffee table or just a keepsake.
Each piece is individually designed to the client's specification making sure it is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
I liaise with you, the client throughout the process with photos and video calls etc. ensuring you get what you require.
Each bespoke piece I create has its own unique number branded into it either underneath or as subtle a place as I can find, this along with photos covering the entire process, resin and colour pigment ratios, finish applied and any other relative information are then loaded onto a memory stick and stays with the client.
As I design, machine and finish all my products in-house I can closely control every process allowing me to not only pride myself on the quality of my products but also my customer service which I hope you will find is second to none.
We have in house machinery enabling us to prepare all our timber from stock and prep, clean and finish all automotive and mechanical parts, along with CNC machines, blasting cabinets and spray booth, we also carry out all metal fabrication for legs, supports etc onsite.
We strive to use timbers from problem, storm damaged or end of life trees predominantly from Warwickshire, (absolutely non is used from the HS2 white elephant) using a local tree surgeon and his kiln facilities.
